Russia’s Alcon Group to build deep wheat processing plant
SARATOV, Oct 25 (PRIME) -- Russian alcoholic drink and beverages producer Alcon Group is ready to build a plant for deep processing of wheat in the Penza Region, the regional government said in a statement on Tuesday without disclosing the size of the investment.
The plant’s processing capacity will reach 250,000 tonnes per year.
Anatoly Gurtovoi, chairman of the company’s board of directors, said at a meeting with the Penza Region Governor Ivan Belozyortsev that glucose-fructose syrup will be one of the plant’s products for the confectionery industry.
“The works on the plant’s design are already going on. The Penza Region suits all of our criteria, but implementation of such a large project is impossible without your support,” Gurtovoi told Belozyortsev as cited by the government.
